President

Hi, I’m Andy Wang, a junior at the Oklahoma School of Science and Math (OSSM), and I’m excited to serve as the President of our Youth Tennis Club! I played on the Whittier tennis team for two years and the Norman North team for another two. At Norman North, I was honored to receive both the "Best Freshman Tennis Player" and the "Coach’s Award" in my first and second years.

Beyond playing, I’ve truly enjoyed coaching younger players. I served as the head coach at the Norman Chinese School for two years and have led the coaching team for the Norman Share & Grow Association’s summer tennis programs since 2021.

As President, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside our board and club members to grow both as athletes and as a community. My goal is to ensure that every member feels welcome, supported, and has fun while improving their skills on the court. I also want to help build strong bonds and lasting friendships within our club. I’m excited to organize training sessions, summer camps, friendly matches, tournaments, and fun activities that will challenge us and bring us closer together as a team!

Vice President

Hi, my name is Cooper, and I am excited to serve as the Vice President of the Youth Tennis Club. I am a Junior at Norman North High School and a member of the Norman North varsity tennis team. I started playing tennis in the 3rd grade, played on the Whittier tennis team for two years, and have been on the Norman North tennis team for two years so far. I played USTA individual and team tennis in middle school (our team won 2nd place in the multi-state, Missouri-Valley Regional Tournament!), and I still play in USTA singles tournaments on weekends.

I love competing and playing tournaments because I believe that is one of the best ways to push yourself and improve your game. I train with my friends, attend group drills, and have individual coaching so I can get better and learn more about the sport.

Through Share & Grow, I’ve also discovered that I love working with younger players and teaching them about tennis. Teaching alongside Andrew Wang, Peter Wang, and Ivan Ding through Share & Grow for the past two years has been a great experience. It’s fun to work with the kids, and I hope to develop their love for the sport of tennis. I am excited to now also serve in a leadership role for the Share & Grow Youth Tennis Club.

Vice President

Hello, my name is Peter Wang. I am currently a freshman at Norman North. I took an interest in tennis when I was in 6th grade and have been playing it ever since. I have been on the Whittier middle school tennis team, and I am currently a part of the Norman North tennis team. One of my favorite activities is coaching younger kids, for the past 2 years I along with Andy have taught kids the fundamentals of tennis. Tennis is a very fun and engaging sport; I hope that I can instill my love for this sport into each of my students. Our goal is to empower the youth, to encourage them to exercise, for them to have lots of fun, and make new friends. Tennis is the sport that has the highest life expectancy, which means that just playing tennis at any level could increase life expectancy. We hope to motivate youth to try such an amazing sport. I feel so honored to be a vice president of the tennis branch at Share&Grow.
